If you’re planning on throwing a Halloween party this year, I want to help you make it one for the ‘gram! In other words, for those of you who don’t speak social media slang, let’s make your 2021 Halloween Bash one to remember.

There are a two key components to putting on a truly awesome Halloween party: Activities & Atmosphere.

Let's start with Activities:

Every great Halloween party has a few activities to keep guests entertained all evening long. Depending on the age group of your guests, plan activities like a costume runway and competition, a pumpkin carving competition, spooky cookie decorating, a make-your-buddy-a-mummy activity, a Halloween-themed piñata, Halloween Karaoke, pin the wart on the witch…I’m only half kidding with that last one.

If you have mostly children coming to the bash, print off some fun Halloween coloring book pages and set up an area where they can color. You can also set up an area where they can make a fun Halloween craft like a lollypop ghost with a sucker, a piece of white cloth, some ribbon and a permanent marker.

While bobbing for apples may have been a popular activity in the past, due to the whole, you know, pandemic thing, I’d recommend leaving that one out this year…and maybe forever.

If it will be an adult Halloween party, consider doing a “mix your own Halloween cocktail” station with recipe cards for Halloween-themed drinks like Poison Apple Cocktails with edible glitter, Black Magic Margaritas, or Drunken Peanut Butter Cups.

Another great Halloween activity is to pick your favorite Halloween movie and set up a backyard theater with a screen and projector. Be sure to provide plenty of blankets by your seating area so your guests won’t get cold watching the movie!

And just like for the Fall party, hosting a soup or chili cook-off or just making it a Halloween-themed potluck is another great activity to do at a Halloween party! Guests could bring any of their favorite fall foods and make it with a spooky flair, like decorating an apple pie like a mummy with the top crust cut in strips and edible googly eyes.

The other key component to an amazing Halloween Bash is Atmosphere:

Create the perfect atmosphere for your Halloween party with music, decorations, and fragrances that will keep your guests in the party mood all evening long!

Music: Make sure you have your playlist set and ready to go with some of the popular Halloween songs like Thriller by Michael Jackson and Monster Mash by Bobby "Boris" Pickett & The Crypt Kickers and Bobby Pickett.

Decorations: In my opinion, this is one of the best parts about throwing a party: decorating the house! I love to pick a theme for every room: ghostly pumpkin patch in the kitchen, spooky forest in the living room, witch’s caldron for the drink station, mummies and ghosts for the bathroom, and haunted hay ride in the back yard. Make sure you have lots of orange lights, install some orange light bulbs in your sconces—especially outside.

Fragrances: And of course, you can’t forget home fragrances from TheGiftofScent.com to complete your Halloween party atmosphere! Fill your home with favorite fall fragrances using Plugables® Fragrance Vase Wax Warmers, Plugables® Electric Home Fragrancers, and more.

In the kitchen, use Pumpkin Spice No-Mess Fragrance Tarts™ in your wax warmer and Pumpkin Spice fragrance oil in your Plugables® Home Fragrancer to add to your ghostly pumpkin patch décor theme.

In the living room, use For Evergreen No-Mess Fragrance Tarts™ and Pine Grove Fragrance oil to add to your spooky forest décor theme.

On the drink station, use a wax warmer with Vanilla Bourbon No-Mess Fragrance Tarts™ to add a sweet, boozy aroma to your witch’s caldron décor.

In the bathroom(s), plug in your Arctic Wolf Premium Plugables® Home Fragrancer with Apple Orchard or Spiced Vanilla Fragrance oil.

You can also use Brown Sugar Biscotti, Apple Orchard, or Icy Cinnamon No-Mess Fragrance Tarts™ in your wax warmers for more fall fragrance favorites.

With these tips, you’ll throw a fantastic Halloween Bash instead of a “Monster Mash.” Have a happy Halloween and a splendid autumn season!
